Main Composition and Content
Inactivated foot and mouth disease (FMD) Virus Type O strain O/Mya98/XJ/2010: 107.0 TCID50/ml or 107.0 LD50/0.2ml before inactivation.

Appearance
Light pink or milky white viscous emulsion.
Indication
For the prevention of Type O foot and mouth disease. The duration of immunity is 6 months.
Administration and Dosage
Intramuscular injection at the back of the ear root.
For pigs with 10~25kg weight, 1 ml (1/2 dose) per head.
For pigs with over 25kg weight, 2 ml (1 dose) per head.
Adverse reactions
General reactions: swelling in the injection part, transient increase in body temperature, and a poor appetite or no appetite for 1~2 days. Generally, the symptoms will decrease 3 days after the vaccination and gradually return to normal.
Serious reactions: due to the breed variety and individual difference, a few animals may appear acute hypersensitive reaction, such as restlessness, acceleration of the breath, muscle tremor, congestion in visible mucosa, vomiting and bleeding at nasal cavity, even the death if without in-time rescue, some pregnant sows may have abortion.
Precautions
- Transportthe vaccine at 2~8°C (do not freeze the vaccine). Avoid exposure to direct sunlight during shipping and usage. Restore the vaccine to the room temperature and shake it well before use.
- Before vaccination, check the appearanceof the vaccine, and perform strict and thorough physical examination on the pigs. For the sick, weak, pregnant pigs or pigs in stressful situation after long distance transportation, delay the vaccination until they return to normal. Use sterile injection equipment, and disinfect the injection site. Make sure one needle for one pig. During injection, the insertion depth behind the root of the ears should be appropriate (when large dosage is injected, multi-point intramuscular injection is recommended).
- The vaccination must be performed by professionals to avoid mis- The professionals should focus on physical examinationof pigs, sterilization and injection depth, and post-injection observation.
- Perform the vaccination in the order of safe area (flock), threatened area (flock) and endemic area (flock). During vaccination, staffs must ensure sanitation and disinfection of the operation environment. Transport the animals only21 days after vaccination.
- Before vaccination, the staffs must receive technical training and follow the operating instructions strictly. The staff that has been exposed to the affected animals should change clothes, hats and shoes, and receive necessary disinfection before participating in the vaccination process. Recommend multi-point intramuscular injection when vaccinating piglets that weigh less than 25 kg.
- Recordingwork should be done during vaccination.
- The usedvaccine bottles, tools and unspent vaccine should be processed by disinfection or deep burial.
- Vaccination is one of the measures to prevent and control FMD. Take bio-security measures such as disinfection, quarantine and blockadeat the same time.
- Use the vaccine with caution onanimals in late pregnancy.
- When severe anaphylaxis occurs, treat the animal with adrenaline or dexamethasone.
